The majority of us spend a significant portion of our waking lives on the web. We connect and interact with different persons, organizations, and corporations. In fact, the platform you are using right now; Facebook, is among many popular services collecting and storing your personal information. But on top of this, there are government spies and potential employers, all of whom could be assessing your personal information right now. All of this data is collected for the purposes of being analyzed and used.
This is our world. We live in an inescapably digital era. With this in mind, what kind of expectations of privacy can a person reasonably have?
Hello fellow ES&Lers,
It is a pleasure to announce that your Students’ Association has decided to officially endorse the campaign to divest from fossil fuels at the University of Toronto. In so doing, we join other student organizations such as UTSU, VUSAC, SCSU, UTEA, LGBTOUT and Oxfam UofT in the push for a fossil-free UofT and an environmentally viable Canada.
We invite you to join over 1,200 members of the U of T community in signing this petition: http://campaigns.gofossilfree.org/petitions/divest-uoft
A Brief will be presented to President Meric Gertler on 6th March, 2014, at 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Hart House Debates room regarding this issue. Please visit this website for all the relevant information: http://toronto350.org/divest/
We can do this!
